Synopsis

London 1963. Teachers Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright are intriqued by mysterious pupil Susan Forman. Following her home one night, they discover she lives in a strange junkyard. Or does she? In the corner of the junkyard is a police box. A mysterious man emerges from the fog and moves toward the police box. They learn he is Susan's grandfather. He is the doctor. But, Doctor Who?

A very good first episode. I wonder why there are no shows, in my opinion, that are as good as Doctor Who. It's literally the best show that I've ever seen.

Nearing the 50th I doubt the creators of the show ever knew how much of an impact this very first meeting with the Doctor would leave on the world.
